Premium Double Twisted Wire Mesh for Robust and Versatile Applications
Double Twisted Wire Mesh
A non-raveling, interlacing pattern called Double Twisted Mesh uses a hexagonal wire mesh that is formed by twisting each adjacent wire through 2.5 turns (three half-twists) around the other. The technique guarantees that a soft yarn remains flexible, strong and will not easily come apart when cut. The panels for the base, sides and lids are created and then the gabion walls are put together.

Parts of a Gabion Box (Double Twisted Mesh

Base Panel: Main structural mesh panel forming the base
Lid: Detachable mesh panel for enclosing filled gabions.
Diaphragms: Internal partitions dividing the gabion into cells (optional).
Selvedge Wire: Thicker edge wire along longitudinal borders (e.g., 3.4 mm for 2.7 mm mesh wire).
Lacing Wire: Coated wire for assembling and securing units (min. 2.2 mm diameter).
Fasteners: Rings or clips (e.g., C-shaped rings, stainless steel) for connecting panels.
Bracing Ties: Diagonal wires to prevent deformation.
Sack Gabions: Cylindrical units with lateral openings for filling.

Coating
ASTM 975
In the construction and engineering sectors, the durability and performance of gabion products are enhanced through specialized coatings. These coatings not only improve resistance to environmental stressors such as corrosion, UV exposure, and salt spray but also ensure the structural integrity of products under various loading conditions. The following tables detail coating parameters by product type as defined by two major standards—ASTM A975 and BS EN 10223-3.
The ASTM standard emphasizes parameters like coating mass and tensile strength for gabion boxes and mattresses.
Coating | Style | Standard |
---|---|---|
Galvanized | Style 1 | ASTM 641 Class 3 |
Zn–5% Al | Style 2 | ASTM A856 Class 3 |
PVC | Style 3 | ASTM 975 (0.5mm thickness) |
Al | Style 4 | ASTM A809 |
Type of Gabion Products
Mesh in Roll
An elastic wire netting in a roll, provided for use in soil stabilization, preventing erosion and fortifying embankments. It can be put on surfaces to protect them from losing soil.

Gabions
abions are made from rectangular wire mesh and lined with stones to construct retaining walls, line canals and build decorative structures. They give us support, allow liquids to move through them and help with challenges about terrain.
Retaining Structures
Built with gabion baskets, these structures function to stop erosion and the onset of landslides simply by holding the soil laterally. Matters are frequently used in road making, building up embankments and securing land areas during project construction.

Mattresses
These are shorter gabion walls commonly used to protect banks of rivers, line water channels and shields from scouring. They create an adjustable, open-to-air covering that helps to slow down water and lessen erosion.
Sack Gabions
Filled with stones, sack gabions are cylindrical wire mesh containers designed mainly for emergency use, like stopping floods and helping to fix eroded soil. Since they are ready fast, they are great for immediate safety needs.
